Namasteh!,
 | Thank you
all very much for your encouragement and enthusiasm
over my solar cooking project in Nepal described
in Home Power magazine (Feb/March '95
issue). That makes all the hard work worthwhile. |
 | Many of you
asked for information about the
Backpack
Cooker and how to purchase it. I describe it under
the Solar Products
section and provide order
information. I have tried to keep the prices
as low as possible: the prices are essentially at cost. |
 | I also
provide information on the
Parabolic
Cooker which uses focused reflected solar energy. |
 | I hope that
you will become a solar cooking enthusiast and
proponent for a better environment and health. I am
looking forward to any ideas you might have in "spreading
the word", and convincing local, national and
international organizations to put their support behind
this idea. I have been an active solar cook, volunteer
and promoter since I got "hooked" on this idea in 1989.
I have designed and built a variety of different solar
ovens, such as box cookers (with one and four
reflectors), conical reflector cookers, half-circle
reflector cookers, half-parabolic and parabolic cookers,
and box-less panel cookers, made out of cardboard, wood
and metal, glass, plastic, and oven roasting bags. |
 | If you would
like any other information about solar cooking, water
pasteurization, Nepal, etc. or if you are interested in
different types of cooker models, please let me know
specifically what you are interested in. |
 | Every year,
I solar visit Nepal for 2 to 3 months, engaging in
similar activities as described in the Home Power
magazine article. Hopefully we can greatly expand the
program in this beautiful and extremely poor country. |
 | I have also
started programs in Mongolia and Peru. |
Best regards and
happy cooking!
